Issue: Unable to access their app and their RVM log contains this error code:

Failed on HttpSendRequest()
Error Code: 12157
Error Text: An error occurred in the secure channel support

**Also, unable to open the app config url via Internet Explorer**

Troubleshooting steps

This could mean that the the SSL protocol is being used. Try the following:

1. Open "Internet Options" through their windows search bar
2. Select the "Advanced" tab
3. Go to the "Security" section, specifically the options that say "Use SSL X.X" and "Use TLS X.X"
4. If they have SSL selected, they are using the unsupported protocol

Solution

Unselect the SSL option and select the TLS options. Try opening the app.

Alternative

System / driver updates might also resolve: "The windows error code 12157 is generally generated due to errors reported by the driver itself meaning that this error is a software problem or compatibility issues between the hardware installed and the system being used"
