Video/MP4 Support

Overview

OpenFin leverages Chromium to support video playback. The Chromium team has documented the supported codecs in the following article: https://www.chromium.org/audio-video

H.264 Codec Support

Chromium does not support the H.264 codec as the team favours open libraries.  

Video formats not supported in OpenFin (as the License is required to support these codecs):

• Theora [Except on Android variants]

• H.264 [Google Chrome only]

• H.265 [Google Chrome only and only where supported by the underlying OS]

• MPEG-4 [Google Chrome OS only]
