Crash Reporting

Overview

The OpenFin crash reporting tool captures additional information in the event of an OpenFin process crash that can help the OpenFin support team identify the cause of a crash.

Diagnostic Mode

In the event of an application crash, the information from the crash report may need to be cross-referenced with the information available in a Runtime debug log with Verbose logging active.  To enable Verbose Logging and Crash reporting simultaneously we have created a 'Diagnostic' mode, please see the following article for information on how to enable Enabling Diagnostic Mode.

Retrieving Crash Reports

The OpenFin crash reports can only be processed by the OpenFin Support team.  In the event of a crash, the crash reporter will attempt to upload the report to OpenFin.  If you need us to investigate the cause of a crash please contact us at [e-mail] and provide the debug log that covers the time of the crash.

If the crash reporter can't send the report to OpenFin, a local copy will be stored locally in %localappdata%\Temp\OpenFin Crashes.
